You and your friends are invited to KC Strip Steak or Breaded Shrimp Dinner at Post 4 from 5PM to 7PM. KC Strip “Choice”
Steak (10oz.), or Breaded Shrimp (7) with baked potato, dinner salad and Texas toast for $17.00.
Added to menu: KC Combo Steak Dinner and 3 pieces of shrimp with the dinner salad and Texas Toast for $20.00.
When RSVP'ing by 4PM Tuesday 10/20/26 just order Steak, Shrimp or Combo to kenny_white01@yahoo.com or 316-990-8642. It will cut down a lot of confusion if you RSVP direct to post Commander at the previous email or phone number (call or text) instead of answering back to the email you received. That goes via the Post (or Cloys) and there is a chance it will get lost.
Remember the Post Commander will always respond I received your order so if you do not hear back from there is a good chance I didn't receive your RSVP.
"If you do not get a response from me means he didn't get your RSVP."
If you have a preference let us know if you would like to be seated on Hall side or Bar area. Our steak night as been so successful we are now using both sides. We will reserve a table for 5 guests or more and anything under 5 guests we will find you a table.

Help Depolyed Kansas Military
While most Kansans will spend the holidays surrounded by family and friends, some of the state’s service members will celebrate Christmas thousands of miles from home.
Volunteer Kansas is asking the community to help ensure deployed Kansas service members know they haven't been forgotten by participating in its annual Presents in a Package event.
The holiday effort collects donated items, handwritten notes and Christmas greetings, then brings volunteers together to pack and send care packages overseas. Organizers are also asking Kansas families to submit the names and addresses of loved ones currently deployed so they can receive a package.
Names and addresses of deployed Kansas service members must be submitted by November 9, 2026, to PresentsinaPackage@gmail.com. When sending the email, be certain to include your name and phone number.
Three Ways Kansans Can Help
1. Submit a deployed service member. Friends and family members can submit the name and mailing address of a deployed Kansas service member by emailing PresentsinaPackage@gmail.com. Make certain to include your name and phone number in the email. The deadline is November 9th
2. Donate care package items. Donations can be dropped off at Southwest National Bank branches or KAKE TV through November 9.
Requested donations include individually packaged snacks, beef jerky or Slim Jims, protein bars, trail mix, instant oatmeal, popcorn, crackers, canned foods with easy-open lids, Christmas decorations, cards and letters, games, puzzles, toys, baby wipes, body wash, sunscreen, socks, and lip balm. Because the packages are being shipped overseas, donated items must fit inside an 11 x 8.5 x 5.5-inch box. Do not include aerosols, medications, chocolate, hand sanitizer, fragile glass items, or batteries.

3. Volunteer to pack the boxes. Community volunteers are needed Friday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farm Credit Bank Building located at 245 N Waco, Wichita, to assemble care packages for shipment.

A Simple Way to Say “Kansas Remembers”
Brown says Presents in a Package is about more than sending gifts. The project gives Kansans a chance to connect personally with service members who may be spending one of the most meaningful times of the year far from the people they love.
Schools, churches, businesses, civic organizations, families, and individuals are encouraged to participate. Children and students can get involved by creating cards and writing letters of encouragement to include in the packages.
The messages don’t have to be elaborate. A few handwritten words of gratitude can provide a powerful connection to home.

1. The board will be located in the bar area of American Legion Post 4. The board has 54 spaces resembling a randomly placed deck of poker cards with 2 Jokers. Each space will be numbered in sequence.
2. Single tickets will be $1.00 each, multiple sales of 6 for $5.00 or 25 for $20.00.
3. Drawing date will be weekly on each Thursday at 7:00 PM in the American Legion Post 4 bar area. All ticket sales will close at 6:45 or 15 minutes prior to the drawing.
4. Tickets will be available during the week in the American Legion Post 4 bar area and up until the time of the weekly drawing each Thursday.
5. A tumbler will be used for mixing that week’s purchased Queen of Hearts raffle tickets. Tickets must be mixed in public view.
6. The purchaser of the drawn ticket will pick a card from the board.
7. To win the jackpot, you must pick the Queen of Hearts from the raffle board.
8. If the Queen of Hearts is not selected, the pot rolls over to the next week.
9. The pot will continue to build until the Queen of Hearts is chosen. This could potentially take up to 54 weeks.
10. If the winning ticket holder picks the Queen of Hearts in person, they will receive 50% of the pot.
11. If you will not be present at the drawing, you must declare a numbered card from the board by writing that card number on the raffle ticket stub at the time of purchase. Non-attending winners will receive 40% of the pot.
12. If the drawn ticket holder does not pick the Queen of Hearts, the prizes are:
a. $ 50.00 for picking the Ace of Spades
b. $ 50.00 for picking a Joker
c. $ 25.00 for having your ticket drawn
13. All purchased tickets will be discarded after the weekly drawing.
14. American Legion Post 4 will withhold all taxes from winnings where applicable. The winner will be required to provide proper identification and information for taxes. All tickets and monies will be accounted for by the organization’s designated person in accordance with all Department of Charitable Gaming requirements.
15. All prizes over $50.00 will be paid by check from the American Legion Post 4.

In partnership with the Kansas State Association of Fire Chiefs (KSAFC), we're pleased to share that registration is open for the 2026 KSAFC 110th Annual Conference, taking place October 28–30 at the Margaritaville Hotel in Kansas City, Kansas.
This annual event brings together fire chiefs, command staff, fire service professionals, administrative personnel, industry partners, and state leaders from across Kansas for several days of education, collaboration, and networking focused on advancing the future of the fire service — and we wanted to make sure our partner organizations across the state knew they're welcome to join us.
This year's vendor expo SOLD OUT completely well ahead of the event, a good indicator of the energy and turnout building around this conference.
Highlights of the schedule:
- Wednesday, Oct 28 – Chief's Roundtable (FREE to attend), FMAK Meeting, and the FD Administrative Assistant Forum.
- Thursday, Oct 29 – Keynote sessions with Dr. David Griffin, examining the Charleston 9 tragedy through the lens of organizational culture and leadership, and a follow-on session on the real cost of the fire service — mental health, suicide, occupational cancer, and family support. The day also includes the Awards Ceremony & Luncheon, a SAFER Grant update, KSAFC business updates, the vendor trade show, and the BBQ and Hospitality Vendor Night
- Friday, Oct 30 – Keynotes from Fire Marshal Mark Engholm, Dr. Wesley Attwood (NIOSH) and Chief Dennis Rubin on how fire departments can request services and an overview of a past Kansas City incident, and Dave Carroll on building a storytelling culture, followed by lunch and the KSAFC business meeting
Registration is $200 and includes all Thursday and Friday programming, keynote sessions, the awards luncheon, business meeting, and vendor expo access. The Wednesday Chief's Roundtable is open at no cost for those attending only that portion.
A discounted room rate of $195/night has been secured at the Margaritaville for conference attendees. Rooms in the block are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we'd encourage booking early.
