Victory For Veterans
We all know that there are many great organizations that help veterans and military. Victory for Veterans organization is one that definitely deserves a Patriot Award. This group has made the commitment to veterans, military, first responders and caregivers. It was founded in 2016 by Steve Durgin. Along with the help of board chair, Colonel Mikel Burroughs (ret) they created a support system for our heroes. In association with Warriors for Life (WFL) which is a Virtual Support Group Community Services virtual meetings are conducted four time a week Saturday through Tuesday. They are determined to make an impact and are available to you.
These are support groups where you can participate via a video conference bridge, either anonymously or not, from your own home. You are not required to turn on the video. You can just listen or talk, or both, what ever you feel comfortable with. People are finding comfort knowing there are others going through similar realities.

Beyond Support
Beyond the support groups they provide many numerous other benefits for men and women that have or are serving:
- Memorial Day they organize the placement of thousands of flowers on the gravestones at veteran cemeteries
- Warriors ride events are currently scheduled in multiple states including Colorado, Texas, Florida, Alabama, Indiana, Virginia, Massachusetts and others
- A huge list of resources (including VeteranBargains)
- Operation Costa Rica - “ Life Readiness Training Center”
- Taken The Good Aviation & Veterans Museum in Casper WY under their assistance to help preserve a part of our military history

I work with many non-profit and Victory for v\Veterans has to be one of the best. I also want to extend recognition to their whole team for such a great organization supporting our veteran warriors and first reponders.

KANSAS VETERANS AND FAMILY REUNION
This month the VeteranBargains Patriot Award of the month is going to a veteran organization that goes way beyond for all us brothers and sisters that have served. Formerly The Kansas Vietnam Veterans and Family Reunion - NOW - Kansas Veterans and Family Reunion is one fantastic group that since 1988 has put on a reunion here in Kansas. Bringing together veterans from all branches of the service and from all over the country, the 2020 reunion will be held on June 19, 20 and 21 at El Dorado Lake outside El Dorado Kansas.
We know we are all brothers and sisters in arms. What great way to help bring us all together.
Held on Veterans Point, Shady Creek Area, El Dorado State Lake. The reunion allows veterans to gather together for fellowship and fun.
There will be FREE Lake access for all Prior Service Military, Military Retirees, Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard Service Members. A current Military ID (CAC), Veteran's Administration ID, DD-214 or other proof of service is required. (lake fees will be in effect for non-veterans)
Entrance costs to the reunion: Wrist bands $5.00 for 12 and older. This helps them cover the cost to put the reunion on. (The Reunion receives no monies from the State Park service, and they pay a permit fee to host this event at the lake.) As a 501(c)4 volunteer organization, the money brought in is put back into the reunion. A part of the proceeds are donated to different worthy veterans causes.
Veterans from all conflicts, family members and supporters are welcome. This reunion is for you. The reunion has been moved to JUNE in an effort to get some cooler weather. You encouraged to bring your friends and family to the reunion.
There will be all kinds of fun things planned:
- music by live bands
- a very special USO show
- auctions
- opportunities to win prizes
- kids' entertainment tent
- food
- vendors
(The auctions and raffles are used to fund the reunion's expenses and prepare for the following year.) (This list subject to change and additions)
