“Saving 22” Documentary
at the USNG Armory
July 18th / 4 PM, Movie at 7PM
A Castle on a Hill Productions Produced the Documentary “Saving 22” in an Effort to Raise Awareness and to Prevent Veteran Suicide. WICHITA, KS 7/18 2025 A Castle on a Hill Productions, a film and video production company based in KS announces a networking event hosting veteran service providers, non profits and mental health advisers along with a showing of the documentary “Saving 22” playing at the USNG Armory (2808 N New York St.) on July 18th, 2025. Networking starts at 4PM, with the feature length movie showing at 7PM. Although “Saving 22” presents the problem of 22 veterans a day taking their lives (based on a VA study), the message of “Saving 22” is hope. Veterans, veteran service providers and non-profits are lining up to curtail the problem of veteran suicide showing life is what you make it and it is rewarding. After coming home, Veterans do not fit-in. It could be due to them being overwhelmed by survivors' guilt, the injuries and traumas they either experienced or prepared for, or by just going through the intense training situations. We miss the sense of achievement, purpose, structure, or the close buddies made. Oftentimes, veterans are left to fend for themselves, usually turning to self medication, or accepting being given opioids for injuries or suicidal ideations. When hope is lost, a veteran will seclude themselves and isolation leads to death. ABOUT “SAVING 22” AND THE EVENT. “Saving 22” encourages those who watch to be empathetic. No one goes through the same thing and no one reacts the same, but we all go through something and we all have the same feelings and we all have trauma. Life is not meant to be done alone. Learning to work as a team is one of the greatest things I learned while being in the Army. The Saving 22 events are not just a movie showing, it's an opportunity for groups who provide care to come together, working as a team when a veteran is found in need. Loved ones have a chance to meet a network available who provide the care their veteran needs letting them know they are not alone. The Saving 22 events are meant to create and share hope.
Come out for fun and to support our veterans
