River City Painting is  giving back to those who have served our country is at the heart of our Brush of Honor program.

Each year, River CIty Painting  invites our community to nominate a deserving veteran whose home could benefit from a fresh coat of paint. After reviewing the nominations, we select one veteran to receive a professionally painted home exterior at absolutely no cost.

The Brush of Honor program is River CIty Painting's  way of expressing gratitude for the sacrifices made by the men and women who have served in our armed forces. A fresh exterior not only enhances curb appeal but also helps protect and preserve the home for years to come. River City Painting is honored to use their skills to make a meaningful difference and celebrate the veterans who have given so much to our community and our country.

 The second annual Sedgwick County Emergency Preparedness Safety Expo takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 Location the Century II Expo Hall located at 225 W. Douglas in Wichita, KS.

Rules 

1. The board will be located in the bar area of American Legion Post 4. The board has 54 spaces resembling a randomly placed deck of poker cards with 2 Jokers. Each space will be numbered in sequence.

2. Single tickets will be $1.00 each, multiple sales of 6 for $5.00 or 25 for $20.00.

3. Drawing date will be weekly on each Thursday at 7:00 PM in the American Legion Post 4 bar area. All ticket sales will close at 6:45 or 15 minutes prior to the drawing.

4. Tickets will be available during the week in the American Legion Post 4 bar area and up until the time of the weekly drawing each Thursday.

5. A tumbler will be used for mixing that week’s purchased Queen of Hearts raffle tickets. Tickets must be mixed in public view.

6. The purchaser of the drawn ticket will pick a card from the board.

7. To win the jackpot, you must pick the Queen of Hearts from the raffle board.

8. If the Queen of Hearts is not selected, the pot rolls over to the next week.

9. The pot will continue to build until the Queen of Hearts is chosen. This could potentially take up to 54 weeks.

10. If the winning ticket holder picks the Queen of Hearts in person, they will receive 50% of the pot.

11. If you will not be present at the drawing, you must declare a numbered card from the board by writing that card number on the raffle ticket stub at the time of purchase. Non-attending winners will receive 40% of the pot.

12. If the drawn ticket holder does not pick the Queen of Hearts, the prizes are:

a. $ 50.00 for picking the Ace of Spades

b. $ 50.00 for picking a Joker

c. $ 25.00 for having your ticket drawn

13. All purchased tickets will be discarded after the weekly drawing.

14. American Legion Post 4 will withhold all taxes from winnings where applicable. The winner will be required to provide proper identification and information for taxes. All tickets and monies will be accounted for by the organization’s designated person in accordance with all Department of Charitable Gaming requirements.

15. All prizes over $50.00 will be paid by check from the American Legion Post 4.
