Come out to honor our hereos
June 9, Monday. Send Off KHF 103 CHARTER. Flight has 95 veterans scheduled (1 Korea, 94 Vietnam). Volunteers arrive at Eisenhower Airport no later than 5:30AM. Park on top 4th floor of parking garage and get parking pass inside terminal from David Blanding. It’s now summer travel season so airport will be busy.
June 11, Wednesday. Welcome Home KHF 103 CHARTER. Red Roof Inn, 6815 W Kellogg Drive.
Volunteers who want to help with physical work (unloading equipment, setting up chairs etc) arrive at 9:30. Other volunteers arrive no later than 11:45AM.
We will also need volunteers to load 32 wheelchairs on the bus at the airport, and a group to unload the chairs at the Red Roof. Contact David Blanding dbland5767@aol.com
Advance Directives Fair
Veterans can receive assistance in completing Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care and Living Will paperwork.
This paperwork allows an individual to name specific people to make health care decisions for them, and to let VA health care providers know their wishes for medical, mental health, long-term, and other types of care.

81st Anniversary of D-Day
On June 6th, 2025 at 9:00 am there will be a brief ceremony at Wichita’s Veterans Memorial Park at the WWII Memorial to commemorate the 81st anniversary of D-Day. This was the Allied invasion of France and Western Europe to take back the countries occupied by Nazi Germany. The ceremony will begin with the National Anthem, an invocation and recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. A wreath will be placed at the WWII Memorial and the Master of Ceremonies will offer a few remarks about the significance of that event. Taps will be sounded to conclude the ceremony. The public is invited to attend but since this will be a short commemoration, seating will not be provided.
Guests who do not want to stand should bring their own chairs.
